Granite tiles are the first choice when durability and elegance need to come together. This igneous rock forms deep within the earth and is one of the hardest natural stones of all: scratch-resistant, abrasion-proof, insensitive to stains and largely acid-resistant. That makes granite predestined for heavily used surfaces – from the family kitchen and entrance areas to commercial projects.

Our range comprises more than 60 granites: from light, subtly speckled grey through warm beige and yellow to deep black, with polished, honed, brushed or satin finishes and in large formats up to 100 x 100 cm. Buying granite tiles – hardness that looks beautiful

Granite is an igneous rock composed of feldspar, quartz and mica – hence the fine-grained, speckled appearance, which depending on the variety is calm and even or vividly structured. For your selection this means: from almost plain, modern grey to expressive graining, granite offers the right surface for every interior.

Where to use it: kitchen, floors and busy areas

In the kitchen granite is unbeatable: the floor forgives dropped objects, grease and stains, and – unlike marble – the surface is largely insensitive to acids such as lemon juice or wine. On floors in hallways, staircases and entrance areas granite plays out its abrasion resistance and still looks well-kept after decades of intensive use. Many varieties are also frost-resistant and suitable for terraces and outdoor areas – please note the specifications of the respective stone. Granite is, of course, also ideally suited to underfloor heating.

Finishes: from polished to satin

Polished brings out colour and grain most intensively and looks prestigious. Honed and satin finishes are more matt, offer more grip and are easier to live with day to day – ideal for floors. Brushed granite has a pleasantly textured feel. For wet areas and heavily frequented floors we recommend one of the matt variants.

Caring for granite tiles

Granite is the easiest to care for among the classic natural stones: mopping with clean water or a mild stone cleaner is completely sufficient. Sealing after installation adds extra stain protection. Aggressive scouring agents are unnecessary – and should be avoided for the sake of the joints alone. This way a granite floor stays beautiful for generations.

What is the difference between granite and marble?

Granite is an igneous hard rock – harder, more scratch-resistant and largely insensitive to acids. Marble is a limestone with finer, more elegant veining but is more sensitive to acids. For heavily used surfaces and kitchens, granite is usually the more practical choice; marble scores with its classic elegance.

Are granite tiles suitable for outdoor use?

Many granites are frost-resistant and thus suitable for terraces and outdoor areas. Whether a variety is frost-proof is stated in the product details – just ask us if in doubt. For outdoors we recommend matt, slip-resistant finishes.

Is granite scratch-resistant enough for the kitchen?

Yes. Granite is one of the hardest natural stones, abrasion- and scratch-resistant, and tolerates acids such as lemon juice far better than limestones. That is why it is the classic for kitchen floors and busy areas.

How do I care for granite tiles?

Regular mopping with clean water or a mild, pH-neutral cleaner is sufficient. Sealing after installation increases stain protection. Harsh scouring agents are not necessary.

Which colours and formats are available?
